Saint’s Corner
St. Juliana
On February 16th we celebrate the memorial of St. Juliana who was born in the third century during the persecution of the Roman Emperor Maximian. Because of her strong devotion to Christianity, her father ordered her to be scourged. When she refused to marry a roman prefect, she was imprisoned and tortured. Nevertheless, St. Juliana persisted in her Christian faith. When she refused to give up her faith, she was sentenced to death. She was boiled in a cauldron and thrown into a fiery furnace but remained unharmed. Because of this, St. Juliana was beheaded and remains a virgin and martyr Saint of the Church.
