Vacation Bible School 2010
By Mike Lambrecht
Lately, I have been receiving a lot of questions regarding this year’s Vacation Bible School. In order to clear up a lot of these queries I have decided to write this week’s article about our upcoming VBS entitled "Parade Around the Our Father with Saint Joseph of Cupertino." As you have probably guessed, this years focus will be on studying the Lord’s Prayer and learning about the life of Saint Joseph of Cupertino.
Each day will begin by gathering in the church hall (basement) and learning some songs. Afterwards, there is a daily skit which teaches about the life of Saint Joseph. We will conclude the morning gathering with prayer and then split the children into different groups to send them off to different areas for fun and learning. The main areas that the children move between are Story Time, Crafts, Snacks, Activities & Games, and Videos of Saints. Each day then ends with us gathered together once more for a little more music and prayer.
Our VBS will be held from August 2nd-6th from 8:30 - 11:30 AM. I would like to thank Ted and Mona Fox for once again sponsoring our VBS and making it possible for us to offer the entire program at no cost to the participants. Those interested in attending should pre-register by July 15th to help us with planning and purchasing the necessary supplies. All students ages 5-12 are welcome to attend. Younger students might be able to attend with older siblings provided they are potty-trained. Students older than 12 are encouraged to volunteer to help out. Finally, adults are also needed to lead the various areas that the students will go to. If you have any questions or are interested in signing up, whether to help or participate, please give me a call in the R.E. Office at 359-9006. I hope to hear from you soon.
