Road Signs of Faith

By Liz Wiskowski

While reading a book entitled, “Signs of Faith,” I realized that we can use road signs to keep God in our thoughts. Riding around town, or on a long trip, keep this in mind. For example, when you see:

Do not enter – Let it serve as a reminder to stay clear of sin. Avoid traveling down the wrong path.

T-Intersection – Think of how God is trying to give your life direction.

Rest Area – Christ is the source of rest, the source of endless peace. Through him we will find rest for our souls.

No Parking – When it comes to living our faith, there is no stopping, no parking. We have to be active in our faith and share it.

Signalman – Remember God is waving at us as well. He helps guide our path and is signaling us to come to him.

Crossroads Sign – When we are faced with different paths to take, ask God for guidance on which is the best choice.

Freeway Entrance – Remember this awesome truth—The entrance to God’s kingdom is free because Jesus paid the toll.

Children at Play – Reflect on Jesus’ words, that we must be like little children to enter the kingdom of God.

No U-Turn – Is there anything you are doing to turn you away from God? Are you overcoming bad habits and not turning back to them?

Crooked Road Sign – In Luke it says, “The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.” Make straight our path to you, O Lord. Help us to see your will in our lives.

One Way – There is only one way to be sowed. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Bump – There will be bumps in life. When driving over bumps, slow down and let God drive your life, giving you a smoother ride.

Detour – Ask, am I on the best route? Pray to God to re-route you to follow the paths of righteousness, peace, love, and truth.

Blessed traveling!
