Dying but Living

By Rita Murdock

November is a good month to review where we are and where we are going. It is almost the end of another year and death seems all around. Days are short and dark, summer gardens have died and the trees shed their leaves. We remember the souls of the deceased and prepare to winter until spring time.

However, the world is alive. Watch the squirrels gathering up in hope. Look at ‘dead’ tree branches to see buds of hope for the spring time. Study the church calendar and be thankful for life we’ve been given. Prepare in Advent and be ready for the creator of all life. Jesus comes and we remember in the celebration of Christmas.

The days begin to grow in length and we grow in hope. Jesus loves us and blesses us. We thank you God for your death on the cross so that we may live. Amen.
