Our Time . . . God’s ‘Time’
By RH
We go through life counting minutes, days, weeks, years. We count birthdays and anniversaries. We watch children grow and learn and wonder at how fast it all happens. We are caught up in time. We rush through our lives acquiring things and trying not to grow old. We fiercely hold onto life, fearing death.
God sees us as He created us. He looks at this child of His who He sent to earth to accomplish something. He loves this soul no matter what it does or where it goes. Time means nothing to God, He has been here forever and will be here forever. It is only through His love for us that He created us as human beings. Each of us is a personal favorite of God. He wants the best for us, which may not
always be what we want. He looks forward to our coming home to Him. When our bodies deteriorate and die, He still looks at the soul He created which will live forever.
Throughout all of history, there have been many, many human beings who have lived and died. All were created by God for a purpose. All were given an everlasting soul. How we live our lives is up to us. Will we live so that our eternal life will be with the Father who made us? Or, will we spend the time we have gaining earthly things that will mean nothing when our time on earth is over?
Since this is the beginning of Lent, wouldn’t this be a good time to re-assess how we spend our time?
