Let Us Pray

By Liz Wiskowski

Yes, we all have to take time out of our daily, busy lives for prayers. Jesus waits for us. Regardless of our state in life, we need prayer to keep us humble and trusting. Prayer influences our work, our family life, our friendships, especially our friendship with Jesus. We know that everything looks different after we have talked it over with Jesus. We can overcome all difficulties.

Sometimes it seems that God isn't hearing us - we don't get the answers immediately that we ask for. Persevere. God hears every word. His timetable isn't the same as ours. He sees us, He understands us. In return He asks of us more generosity, more love, and to bear our struggles with faith.

Often we are distracted while we try to pray. Keep praying. This is the devils way of trying to get us to stop, and we are tempted to stop giving prayer time each day to Jesus. Ask our Blessed Mother for help. Even if distracted, He hears every word.

When we spend time talking to the Lord, in the end we are always richer for it.
