Faith

By Father Janusz

In our daily lives we have a lot of questions and not a lot of answers. During our daily lives we try to question different things and find answers. We have doubts, especially about our faith. Maybe we feel bad about this, maybe we think it is wrong to have these kind of doubts? Sometimes people think maybe this is a sin to have doubts about their faith? Where should I find and look for the answers? Maybe it is a sign for me, how to behave. I want to fulfill the will of God in my life.

In the Bible faith is described about one God. Also in the same book we know other nations and tribes who believed in many gods, who worshiped many of them. Israel believes in One God, they don’t have doubts about Him, He is. “For all men were by nature foolish who were in ignorance of God, and who from the good things seen did not succeed in knowing him who is, and from studying the works did not discern the artisan…” (Wisdom 13:1). So truly it is good to talk about the issue of acceptance by man. If I believe God is, all the situations of my life are interpreted through this point of vision. If God does not exist in my life, all events in my life will reflect this.

How can we describe a man who believes in God? The bible says this is a man who trusts in God, who believe that God loves us and He wants us to come to the place which is prepared for us. He helps us on the way and he leads us. To believe means to prove my free decision-I do-to God. I want and I will continue my choice to believe.

If I have doubts I have to resolve them because if I don’t I will be guilty of the sin of neglect. How do I look for answers? Some people say faith is searching for God, we believe in this but still everyday we ask if what we do and what we choose is good and will God accept it? What will be his choice? Religion is the hardest because it is teaching us how to correct every day and it forces us to think.
