St. Nicholas’ Visit 2009
By Mike Lambrecht
This past Sunday we were privileged to have St. Nicholas take some time out of his busy schedule to visit Saint Therese and to bring with him gifts for good little boys and girls. There were about 12 children who had the opportunity to meet him.
As in previous years, the event was held in the church with St. Nicholas making his entrance, greeting the children, and taking his seat. After a brief introduction, children were called up one at a time to have a talk with Saint Nicholas and to receive their present. Father Janusz was on hand to take pictures of Saint Nicholas with the children which can be viewed in a gallery on our parish website.
Among the many messages that Saint Nicholas gave the children was to “tell your parents that you love them” and to “remember to say your prayers before bed.”
Saint Nicholas spent about 2-3 minutes talking to each child and before having to go because of his very busy schedule. However, juice and cookies were served downstairs in the church hall for all who came to see him. Overall, I think that everyone who came had a great time and we hope to see even more faces there next year.
