Merry Mas

      Merry Mas…what’s that about? A few days ago I was out and about town listening to Relevant Radio (92.9 FM) as I was driving. I heard a conversation between a couple of young sounding voices. One voice was saying “Merry Mas…Merry Mas! The other voice corrected the other with its Merry Christmas!  In saying Merry Mas you’re leaving CHRIST out of Christmas!

      Sometimes we get caught up in shopping and all the festivities that we forget the reason for the season. On this fourth Sunday of Advent let us prepare to celebrate the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but shall have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3: 16-17)  He is the greatest gift from our Father. Let’s not leave Him out. Merry Christmas!
