A Review of the Catechism of the Catholic Church

By Mike Lambrecht

In my opinion, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, abbreviated CCC, is one of the greatest books ever published. One of the great features of the CCC is that you can look up just about any topic from abandonment to Zeal in the index and turn to the relevant section on the subject. Once there, you are able to read, in just a few paragraphs, a concise and easily understood explanation of the teachings of the Church on the subject. There have been various catechisms published throughout the history of the Church. However, I believe that never before has there been such a complete collection of the teachings of the Church in one volume that is easily comprehensible to anyone who reads it. If your family doesn’t yet own a copy of the CCC, then I highly recommend that you pick one up as soon as possible.
