Submission Guidelines
- All submissions become the property of Saint Therese Parish. By submitting
an article, you grant permission for the article to be reprinted in our parish
bulletin, placed online, and used as we see fit.
- Not all submissions will be used. For example: Any article contrary to the
teachings of the Church will be rejected.
- All submissions are subject to editing for content and/or length.
- All articles should be written by the submitter.
- The following are generally not used in our bulletin as an article in and
of themselves: Quotations from Church Conciliar Documents, the Bible, Papal
Encyclicals, Bulls, Apostolic Exhortations, the Catechism of the Catholic
Church, chain e-mails, poems, articles from other magazines, books, etc.. If
you wish to use any of the above, you are encouraged to write an article which
uses quotations from these sources and cites them appropriately so that
plagiarism is avoided.
- All articles need to be submitted at least nine days in advance. For
example: if you are writing an article for Easter Sunday, you would have to
submit the article by the Friday before Palm Sunday in order to give us ample
time to work with it.
- In regards to article length: The columns for the bulletin are 3.5 inches
wide and 10 inches long. Size 16-18 "Copperplate Gothic" (Bolded) Font is used
for the heading. Your name is on the next line in size 11.5 "Times New Roman"
(Italicized). The article should be written in size 11 "Book Antiqua." This
means that one column is about 430 words. Articles are best kept to a column
or less. However, up to two columns of an article may be printed in any one
bulletin. If the article is longer than this, it will generally be broken up
into smaller articles and run on several consecutive weeks.
